Test Principle
This assay utilizes a solid phase capture method. Mature sperm with motility capability and hyaluronic acid binding sites on their heads contact glass slides pre-coated with hyaluronic acid. The sperm heads bind to the hyaluronic acid on the slides, restricting their athletic ability. While their tails may whip frequently, they cannot swim forward. Immature sperm lack binding sites and therefore move freely without restriction.
